Fried things and a beer at Molly Bloom’s Irish Pub

by Patricia

Yesterday was Leo’s convocation. It was a bright, sunny day and everyone was melting from the heat. After a bit of convincing, Leo kindly obliged to doing a jumping picture with me. :)

We stopped by Molly Bloom’s Irish Pub, right across the street from Convocation Hall. My mom bought a groupon last year and I guess it was the perfect time to use it. Leo got a light, refreshing beer and I regrettably decided to have a tequila sunrise that resulted in a mandatory ‘nap’ for me. …Let’s just say that having tequila on hot day when you’re dehydrated is not the brightest thing to do.

We had to order about $50 worth of food, so we got a platter of beer battered fried things (including fried pickles!), 2 pounds of wings  (honey garlic & Cajun spice rub), french fries and a relatively healthy Mediterranean flat bread. For pub fare, it was pretty standard. My favourite was the onion rings, the batter was crunchy and not overly greasy.
