Montreal Day 2 (Part 1): “It’s the taste of a childhood garden”

by Patricia

I’m participating in The August Break, an informal challenge to make a blog post a day throughout the month of August. If you don’t have a blog, you can join their flickr group as well. The challenge is open to everyone and you can start at any point during the month. Let’s see how it goes…!

Fuchsia Epicerie Fleur is a quaint little cafe on Duluth Street & Colionale that serves delicate goodies and a range of floral teas. We came across it while killing time before dinner at P.D.C. and, at my insistence, we came back the next morning to try it out. Leo and I shared a trio of cookies flavoured with fleur d’oranger, bergamot and rose-water as well as a croissant with their housemade raspberry jam. (Raspberries are definitely in season, because we’ve had something with it at every meal in Montreal!) I ordered the rose-water iced tea and Leo got the freshly squeezed orange juice.

It was a lovely way to start the day.
