Instagrammies: Oats & Banana Milkshake Hair Mask….is not for eating

by Patricia

This is what happens when you run out of hair conditioner! I spent this afternoon looking up DIY homemade hair care and landed on this recipe for a Banana Hair Mask that looked good enough to eat. I threw in some grounded rolled oats for my scalp.

Oats and Banana Milkshake Hair Mask
via the black hair media forum

1 banana or more
3 tablespoons of milk
5 tablespoons of olive oil
1 egg
1/4 cup of grounded oats

Fair bit of warning: The best way to go about this is to mash the banana(s) first and then blend it with the rest of the ingredients until it’s been liquidized. Otherwise, you will end up like these poor saps on the comment section of the Dr. Oz fan page. The oats have to be finely grounded as well – trust me on this, you do not want to be picking out little bits and pieces of wet oats in your hair. It’s nightmarish.

Obviously, despite its appearance, the mixture isn’t meant for drinking.

Stroopwafels!

by Patricia

It’s been a while since I found a yummy video for my Edible Inedibles tag. Here’s something that caught my eye: stroopwafels! It’s a Dutch brown sugar waffle filled with hot caramel. A must try for my grand European trip one day?

Happy Monday! Mast Brothers Chocolate

Mast Brothers Chocolate are decidedly on the list of places to visit during our New York trip. The store looks absolutely gorgeous with all that dark wood, and, without even bothering to read people’s thoughts on the chocolate, you can tell they know what they’re doing. The beards say it all. They definitely know what they’re doing.

Leo says that we passed by it on our way to Bakeri last year….and he’s right! Maybe we’ll be able to grab some fried chicken from Pies’n'Thighs on our way back.
