Kinton Ramen

by Patricia

A visit at the Art Gallery of Ontario for the Evan Penny exhibition led us to Kinton Ramen afterwards. We had the Spicy Fried Chicken, Shio RamenSpicy Garlic Ramen (with extra meat), and the Vegetable Ramen.

July & August Instagram Eats

Since coming back from Montreal, Leo and I haven’t gone out for any dinners or brunch, which has been a nice break on our tummies and wallet. Plus, getting snacks and walking around Toronto after work has been fun! Check out my Ferrero Rocher inspired combo of Dark Tanzanian Chocolate + Hazelnut gelato combo from Ed’s Real Scoop on Queen St. East. (Drawing by Leo.)

From top to bottom:

Agave y Aguacate’s steak salad and white chalupa

The Drake Hotel’s pork belly kabobs

La Carnita tacos and art print, for which I lined up for over an hour on Adelaide Street…. and was consequently late for work….

The Drake Hotel’s crispy chocolate chip cookies and mango juice, the best cookie I’ve ever bought!

Elle M’a Dit’s  (the newest Baldwin restaurant to open) schnitzel sandwich with fries…it ended up being a very expensive lunch…

sometimes cheaper & bigger isn’t necessarily worth it

The giant wine bottle sitting on the counter should have served as indication of what was to come. Then came the white paper placed over the tablecloths and the tacky music. Then…the appetizers. By the time we realized we would not be enjoying our time here, it was too late to get up and leave. And so, the boyfriend and I suffered through a two hour $25 three course prix fixe dinner at Sambuca Grill on Baldwin Street. Leo had the mussels, t-bone steak and the creme brulee. I chose the soup, risotto and tiramisu. Everything was oversized.

Honestly, this is one of the worst meals I’ve had in a while. The appetizers were average and I chose not to finish my risotto, because it seemed as if it was drenched in wine. The desserts, however, were pretty good.
