Breakfasts and brunch in San Francisco are a real treat. It sounds silly, but you must have the toasts. There’s the Rothko Toast, which you could get at Blue Bottle at SFMoMA before it closed for renovation, and the cult classic hipster toasts from The Mill and Trouble Coffee. My favourite was Bar Tartine‘s avocado toast.

Our first breakfast was at Leo’s cousin’s in the Richmond District, close to Ocean Beach and Land’s End. It was a chilly morning and we helped ourselves to bacon and avocados, hot chocolate felt necessary, and sat in the backyard to watch Karl the Fog do its thing before we packed up for a day trip to the Sutro Baths and Napa.

Between that morning and our last meal, we took about four to five rolls of film and 500 digital photos. I’m crossing my fingers and hoping there’s a few good ones to share. More food posts to come in the next few days.

Happy Monday!
